Overview
You Liao is an emerging bubble tea brand based in Taiwan. They approached me to build their brand identity from the ground up, requiring a visual language that felt fresh, approachable, and premium. My scope included designing the brand logo, establishing a comprehensive brand style guide, and applying these assets to environmental signage, in-store menus, and promotional marketing collateral.
As a new player in the highly competitive Taiwanese bubble tea market, You Liao needed more than just a logo—they needed a visual system that communicated the "fresh and authentic" quality of their ingredients to potential customers. The challenge was to create a cohesive aesthetic that worked across diverse touchpoints: from a digital menu screen and printed flyers to large-scale store exterior branding.
I developed a brand identity centered around the concept of "Freshness & Abundance."
Logo Design: I crafted a custom logotype that incorporates organic, flowing elements to evoke a sense of natural ingredients and tea leaves.
Visual Language: I selected a soft, warm color palette (creams, browns, and earthy tones) to differentiate the brand from the hyper-saturated colors often seen in the industry, giving it a more modern, artisanal feel.
Collateral: I designed a complete suite of materials, including modular menu boards for digital displays, eye-catching posters for "best-seller" promotions, and environmental wall graphics that enhance the customer's in-store experience.
Cohesive Brand Presence: Successfully transitioned the brand from a concept to a fully realized retail experience.
Improved Customer Experience: The new menu design significantly improved readability and helped highlight premium best-sellers, simplifying the ordering process for customers.
Market-Ready Assets: Provided the client with a robust brand toolkit, ensuring consistency across all future marketing materials and scaling efforts.
